For the last 10 years A Way Out’s well established Youth Engagement Service has worked with vulnerable young people in local areas of high deprivation who are at increased risk of dis-engaging from learning, and of becoming involved at an early age in anti-social behaviour, offending and alcohol misuse.

Salary: £17,691 pro rata
Hours: 16 hours per week
A Way Out is seeking to employ an enthusiastic Youth Outreach Worker with exceptional drive and passion for influencing positive impact upon the lives of young people.
The Youth Outreach Worker will be responsible for supporting the Co-ordinator in the delivery in a range of activities and a package of support with the help a team of volunteers.
The Service delivers a highly innovative, relational, multi-component model to break the cycle of disadvantage, and tackle issues before they become entrenched. The delivery embraces an asset based approach around a programme of positive and healthy lifestyle group activities, 1-1 intensive support sessions, a summer holiday programme of recreational and educational activities and trips, a social action project and focus group feedback sessions for children and young people aged 8-11. For young people aged 11-12 years, who are experiencing difficulty with transition from primary to secondary school, we are developing a new weekly positive activity and 1-1 support programme.
