TRAC UK will provide both professionals and non-professionals with a practical beginners guide to independent advocacy.

Date: Monday 5th August
Time: 10:00am – 4:00pm
Venue: The Stages Academy, Bridge St W, Middlesbrough, TS2 1AB

About this Event:

An Advocate is someone who will support you, listen to you and can speak for you in times of need. At times people with complex needs may feel vulnerable and need support in getting their voice heard, if you feel no-one is listening to what you want or how you feel about a situation.

On our day course we will educate and empower you to give you the skills required to become an independent advocate and provide your clients with the best service you can, allowing you to empower the individuals and help them breakdown the barriers they are facing ultimately allowing potential to be reached and goals achieved.

TRAC UK will look at how your support acts as a bridge for the clients to become part of society again and no longer feel isolated.

They will look at safeguarding, barriers to services, different types of advocacy, client needs, client expectations, your role as an advocate and real-life scenarios.

This course is a great way to refresh, enhance or learn new skills to use in your career.

Refreshments will be provided (lunch not included) and an attendance certificate awarded to participants.
