Christmas came a week early to the Norton Glebe Community Centre, when it hosted a Christmas lunch for 60 local pensioners on Monday 17 December.

The lunch was organised by Norton West Councillors Norma and David Wilburn with Norton Glebe Residents Association (NGRA) and guests sat down to lunch at 1pm. The afternoon included:

  • Canapes and service from Stockton Riverside College Catering Students
  • A two course lunch with mince pies and tea and coffee
  • A tombola.
  • Carol singing from children from Norton Glebe Primary School. The children also presented Christmas cards to the lunch guests.
  • Entertainment from local musician Nathan Duff.
  • A visit from Santa.

Stephen Laing, Chair of NGRA, said: “We brought together older people and children in a community celebration. What a brilliant start to the festive season.”
