A Way Out is a successful and developing outreach and prevention charity established in 2002.  Serving the Tees Valley area we are a charity with a difference.  Our approach is asset based and trauma informed aiming to engage, empower and equip vulnerable and excluded women, families and young people to live lives free from harm, abuse and exploitation and to reduce life limiting choices and behaviours.

(18 hours per week – £23,000 pro rata)

With support from ‘Awards for All’ an exciting opportunity has arisen within A Way Out for the role of Community Fundraising Officer.  We are looking for a dynamic person to maintain and raise the profile of the organisation; to contribute to the development and delivery of a cost-effective community fundraising strategy; and raise awareness, understanding, and to challenge negative stereotypes, of those experiencing abuse, harm and exploitation to ensure their voice is heard and their needs met .

We are seeking to appoint an innovative individual with the ability to think creatively outside of traditional community fundraising structures and with skills to develop and grow A Way Out’s community support.  The Community Fundraising Officer will engage with community groups, charities, local businesses, other partners (including local authorities) and the general public through existing networks, alongside A Way Out’s website, partner websites and social media accounts to then develop and deliver campaigns and events growing corporate support; encouraging individual givers, donors

The Community Fundraising Officer will be responsible for creating a new team of Community Engagement volunteers to assist with awareness raising (including organising and/or attending events) and fundraising (through campaigns, donations and events) to further raise awareness and understanding and generate income to support our services

As an organisation based upon Christian values, A Way Out believes in meeting people where they are, building hope and trust, and empowering them towards recovery and ‘a way out’ of their difficulties.  A Way Out is not a “three strikes and you are out” agency, but one that works patiently and tirelessly with grace and mercy at the core, which motivates us to “go the extra mile”.
