Catalyst received funding through the County Durham Community Foundation to purchase and distribute digital equipment to organisations to keep them connected with partner organisations and their service users.

This equipment will also enable organisations to attend online meetings and training sessions, including our range of Forums and Training & Development Programme. We’ve given out the equipment to a range of organisations over the last few weeks, including Little Sprouts, Iranian Community Stockton and Stockton & District Advice & Information Service, which is now being put to good use supporting their communities.

Debbie Fixter, Little Sprouts CIC said,

“A high proportion of the residents we’re helping had no digital access or skills to get the help they needed. The tablets provided by Catalyst have helped us to, on behalf of clients, to access :

Bus pass renewal
Housing applications
Job applications
Universal credit accounts
Repeat prescriptions
Health information
Mental Health referrals
School application
Fuel vouchers

We also plan to arrange video calls to agencies so there can be virtual face to face contact which we’ve seen produces increased positive outcomes.”

We still have a few pieces of equipment left to distribute, if you’re running a community group and you would like one to enable you to take part in online meetings etc, please contact heather.campbell@catalyststockton.org
