The Finding Me project offers a co-ordinated network of support for those people who have been left behind by a loved one who has gone into care or passed away.

The Finding Me project members have been discussing hobbies and interests over the past few weeks.

They have talked about the games they used to play as children and how they worry about the generations after them with the rise of technology and the decline in outdoor imaginative games such as building dens or hide and seek. We have chatted about the hobbies that they have had to put on hold since they became full time carers or since lockdown began a year ago and how they are looking forward to starting these again soon.

All the members contact each other regularly by telephone but we do have several members who are unable to join in with the zoom sessions; we are hopeful that if all goes to plan we can meet in person very soon. In the meantime the group are having weekly zoom catch ups and have recently been joined by representatives from Community Health Ambassadors, Healthwatch and Stockton Library who have all provided information on local volunteering projects.

The Finding Me members are very interested in finding out about local projects so If you think your project might be something they might want to get involved in and you would like to chat with them.

Or if you know someone who has a loved one in a care home or who has been bereaved because of COVID,
