Luke Frost – Updates:

The Kitchen is picking up pace and we now into our 10th week of operating the kitchen and being open to members of the public. The Kitchen also operates a Clothes Bank and The Point Food Bank which is going steady and slowly increasing the numbers of residents who require a helping hand through a difficult time in their lives.

In our 10 weeks we have provided over 80 meals and over 20 emergency food parcels to residents living in Thornaby. We believe this will rise significantly in the coming year and we organising ourselves to ensure we can cope with an increase in numbers.

The Community Kitchen is also home to the Adult Learning Zone which is ran by the Thornaby Community Partnership and this Thursday we will see the learners take on their biggest challenge and provide a 3 course community lunch for 20 and also provide 40 Turkey baguettes which will go to the Food Bank at the Baptist Church on Thorntree Road.

Our Kitchen will also be opening on Wednesday 28th December and will providing a Christmas Week Lunch for £3.00 that we hope will cover the costs of staying open up till the end of January.
