With only a week to go until our last youth zone event of the year, we are running around making sure it is as much as a success as the previous two sporting events this year. It has been a bumper year for us and we are already working to secure next years funding for the Youth Zone.
In other news, we are politely asking people to vote for us in the upcoming Aviva Community Fund which opens this Friday and will continue till the 11th November. The more votes, the more chance we have in securing the future of the Partnership. With the vote due to open and our last big event of the year, for many this would be enough to keep the midnight oil burning.
However, here at Partnership HQ we are really putting in the hours. We will soon be moving onto the next phase of our community kitchen and Food Bank and we working with Organisations and the local authority to make sure no one goes hungry in these testing times.
The Point Community Kitchen is open every Tuesday for residents living within the town who require access to a warm meal and information. The Kitchen is open to all and we operate a “Pay what you can afford scheme” – this allows us to provide meals to those across the town who support us and believe in helping their community, whatever their income.
Our Foodbank will be operational from Tuesday 1st November and we are open to working with Organisations covering the Thornaby area, who help those in need of a helping hand. More details available on request.
