We have an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced person to join us providing general home energy advice and support to communities across South Tees, with a focus on working with residents across Redcar & Cleveland. The post holder will be required to work on a 1-1 basis using a range of methods and venues, initially developing appropriate methods to support beneficiaries remotely. However, in the future you will also be required to adapt to working in a range of community venues and people’s homes as appropriate.

In addition, the post holder will design and deliver a remote training package to front-line staff and community organisations, raising awareness of the issue of fuel poverty.

With previous experience of providing one-to-one advice and delivering training in community settings, you will be person focussed with a commitment to delivering excellent person-centred service. Having some previous experience in home energy advice is important, however additional appropriate training can be provided.

Salary: £19,809 – £21,332 37 hrs per week – Fixed term to 31st May 2022

Administration & Data Support Officer

MEC is seeking to appoint an Innovative and enthusiastic Administration & Data Support Officer to support our Affordable Warmth Team which provides energy efficiency advice and support to vulnerable residents. Main responsibilities include maintaining Charitylog, our Customer Relations Management Tool, supporting the team to input data, and prepare timely and accurate reports for funders.

The postholder will have an interest in affordable warmth, however training will be provided to enable the postholder to give basic energy advice and signposting to customers who contact our freephone energy advice service. The postholder will also be responsible for providing the administrative element of our Fuel Voucher Scheme for customers experiencing fuel poverty. The post holder should have excellent communication and organisational skills to liaise effectively with a range of partners and volunteers and enjoy working within a team.
