Stockton Voice: giving a Stockton’s voluntary, community and social enterprise sector a say in strategic developments in the Borough

Voice background info voice Voice: Background background infoStockton Voice project provides the voluntary and community sector in the borough with an opportunity to influence decisions on policy and services in their area, and helps to identify assets and skills within communities that can be used to tackle issues in a positive way.

It does this through supporting the Voice Forum, organising Task & Finish Groups and Stockton Voice themed workshops, providing information direct to the sector and providing a channel through which any organisation can have its voice heard.

Stockton Voice also support VCSE representatives on various decision making boards/committees throughout the borough with induction, training and ongoing support.    Representatives undertake a vital role, providing the voice of the sector when local issues, policies or the way services are delivered are discussed with partners such as Stockton Borough Council, the Clinical Commissioning Group and Cleveland Police.

Stockton Voice is important as it provides the opportunity to develop real action for the benefit of the community. Regardless of whether you are a small or large organisation or even an individual, Stockton Voice offers an opportunity to be heard on the issues that really matter to you.

Representatives of VCSE organisations can attend Voice events or participate in our discussions. If you want to represent your local community on a decision making body then you need to be nominated by a voluntary, community or social enterprise sector organisation.

We are keen that no matter what your interest is or which part of the community you are from it your voice is heard! If you are interested in getting involved or would simply like more information please contact James Hadman, Stockton Voice Officer, on 01642 733908 or e-mail james.hadman@catalyststockton.org.

Voice Forum

Voice Forum is a bi-monthly open meeting for all voluntary and community organisations in the Borough to come together.  There is usually a relevant guest speaker and organisations are able to discuss the issues that are important to them and to hear about other projects and work in the Borough.

It is an ideal forum to showcase and promote the work of your organisation and also provides a valuable networking opportunity.
