ARCH Teesside, a specialist sexual violence charity, in Teesside is offering free training to organisations and professionals.
Pre-Trial Therapy training is available for counsellors, therapists and others who are working with people who may have reported sexual violence to the police and are part of an ongoing criminal justice investigation.
The training, which can be delivered online and face to face, will equip practitioners to understand the needs of victims of sexual violence and abuse in the context of the criminal justice process and how to support and safeguard them appropriately. On completion of this training, learners will:
• Understand the Pre-Trial Therapy Protocol and why it is important.
• Be familiar with the associated paperwork and how to use it.
• Feel confident in writing case notes for Pre-Trial Therapy clients.
• Be confident in working therapeutically with Pre-Trial Therapy clients.
