We want to recruit Volunteers of all ages with varied life and career experiences. Previous experience/knowledge of working with children/young people is not essential. We are looking for people who want to inspire, motivate, support and encourage disadvantaged children and young people to broaden their career horizons, aspirations and self-belief.
The mentoring programme will include a series of activities to address any issues or barriers to learning and achieving positive outcomes in school and will make a significant, lasting impact on a young person’s future. As a Volunteer Mentor you will provide 1:1 support to a child or young person in one of the partnership schools, helping to identify future goals, raise aspirations, build confidence, self-esteem and resilience.
The programme will also add value by introducing students to activities led by community organisations, including sport, performing, hobbies, volunteering and the development of life and employability skills.
