Crossing The Tees Festival

Crossing The Tees Book Festival returns to the Borough’s libraries next month promising exciting author events, creative sessions, and an afternoon of crime! Here’s a taste of some of the events on offer in the Borough’s libraries.

  • Join best-selling author Ann Cleeves in conversation with Fiona Erskine as she introduces her latest novel ‘The Raging Storm’. This event is BSL interpreted.
  • Join Gillie Hatton for a full day of friendly and informal sessions introducing the basics of novel writing and publishing.
  • Meet six inspiring local authors as they introduce themselves and their books. You will have the opportunity to purchase these books at the end of the panel.
  • Join Ajay Chowdhury and CJ Grayson as they discuss all things crime.

‘Be Heard’ Event

Are you aged 13-15 with a Special Educational Need and/or Disability?

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council invite you to come along to their “Be Heard” event at The Youthy, Thornaby, TS17 6LA on Saturday 22nd June with both morning and afternoon sessions available for you to attend.

Child Safety Week 2024

This year’s theme is ‘Safety, Sorted!’. There are steps you can take to ensure children are safe in your home. The Stockton-on-Tees Family Hubs are here to help you!

They offer free home safety sessions to help you keep your little ones safe. During Child Safety Week you can also take advantage of expert advice and support, and even come away with subsidised safety equipment like baby gates to make your home as safe as possible. There will also be a range of interactive displays.

Sessions are being held on:

  • Monday 3rd June: Thornaby Family Hub, 12:30pm – 2:30pm.
  • Thursday 6th June: Redhill Family Hub 10am – 11:30am, & Stockton Family Hub 1pm – 2:30pm.
  • Friday 7th June: Billingham Family Hub, 9:30am – 12 noon

Digital Voice Roadshow

BT Landlines in the UK are going digital, and although the landline isn’t going away, BT know that there may be questions or people would like to learn more. They are going on the road throughout June and are headed to Stockton on the 10th and 11th of June from 10am – 4pm in Dobbies Garden Centre Car-park, TS18 3SQ.
