To commemorate the Centenary of the First World War Stockton Central Library would like to call upon all knitters to help them revamp their WW1 commemorative banners which are on display outside of the Jim Cooke Conference Suite, in preparation for the Centenary in November 2018.

To help revamp the banners Stockton Central Library is asking for ‘knitters’ to partake in creating knitted poppy’s to replace the faded tissue paper poppy’s currently on display.

If you would like to take part, knitting and crochet patterns can be downloaded here. Sizes of the poppy’s must be between 2” – 4” and red and black wool can be provided free of charge from Stockton Central Library.

Contact Sue Sneyd, Improvement Co-ordinator, Stockton Central Library 01642 526472 sue.sneyd@stockton.gov.uk.

Deadline for Poppies is Friday 26 October 2018
