The Coalfields Regeneration Trust has launched round two with an additional £100,000 which will be distributed as grants of up to £2,500 in the form of e-voucher credit to be spent at any known retailer or supermarket or at Company Shop.

Applications will be considered from not-for-personal profit voluntary and community organisations with an unrestricted income below £250,000.

This includes:

  • Company limited by guarantee
  • Registered charity
  • Community interest company
  • Charitable incorporated organisation
  • Community benefited society
  • Unregistered group with formal rules.

The fund is solely available to pay for food, personal hygiene products and household cleaning products for those in greatest need in the top 30% of most deprived former coalfield areas in England – North East, North West, East Midlands, West Midlands, Yorkshire

Some examples of the types of services that could be funded include but are not limited to:

  • Food banks
  • Food parcels schemes
  • Meal delivery services (such as packed lunches, meals on wheels, soup kitchens etc).

Projects must last for at least two months and funds fully spent by 31 March 2022.

The e-voucher credit can be spent at any known retailer or supermarket or at Company Shop.

The programme will close when all of the funds have been allocated. Applicants are advised to apply early as it is anticipated that there will be a high demand for funding.

This is a rolling application process, with no application deadline.
