Community Radio Fund – Round 2 Deadline Approaching
Round two is currently accepting applications from radio stations across the UK that are not-for-profit, run by local people for local people about local issues.
The funding is intended for community radio licensees broadcasting under a community radio licence in the UK to cover costs including:
- Fundraising to support the station.
- Management.
- Administration.
- Financial management and reporting.
- Community outreach.
- Volunteer organisation and support.
The funding is intended to help further a station’s financial stability and future sustainability. Therefore, proposals to promote long-term financial security and posts which could become self-sustaining are viewed more favourably than applications for other support roles.
There is no set level of funding. In the first funding round for 2019, grants ranged from £6,830 up to £34,320 for individual positions, with an average of £16,567.
This is a very competitive grants programme with many more requests for funding than can be awarded.
The deadline for Round 2 applications is 5 November 2019.
