A key role for Catalyst is to identify opportunities for organisations in our sector to develop new services and expand existing ones. We have recently been alerted to three possible gaps in services in Stockton-on-Tees :

  • Community Transport – mechanisms to enable people to be transported to medical appointments, shopping etc
  • Befriending – where volunteers offer supportive, reliable relationships to people who would otherwise be socially isolated. Our interest is primarily in people under 65.
  • Uniform – Enabling pre-loved school uniforms to be recycled and re-used

We would like to explore how to develop these kinds of services further, across the Borough, to meet the needs of some vulnerable people and those experiencing hardship. We’d like to help enable our partner organisations to benefit from and contribute to the development of these services.

To do this, we need to know what’s out there at the moment. If you are running a community transport service, a befriending service, or you are involved in enabling school uniforms to be re-used, please drop us an email with a few lines about where your service operates and what it does. Send it to enquiries@catalyststockton.org

We all want to help make lives better for local communities. This is one way in which you can help!
