Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council is inviting people to get in touch with their views about modifications made to the emerging draft Local Plan.

Once finalised the plan will set out a vision for the future development of Stockton-on-Tees Borough in relation to housing, the economy, community facilities and infrastructure up to 2032.

The Council submitted its draft Local Plan to the Secretary of State for independent examination in December 2017. In June the plan was examined in public by a Government appointed Inspector, Matthew Birkinshaw, who considered the evidence supporting the Local Plan as well as residents’ views and the views of local businesses other stakeholders.

Further consultation is now required on changes known as ‘main modifications’ to the Local Plan. The Council is inviting people to view these modifications and have their say on the proposed changes. At this late stage in the production of the Local Plan, comments should refer to the modifications only. Responses to the consultation will be passed to the inspector to inform his report on the Local Plan.

The schedule of modifications and supporting documents are available online or are available at all library branches across Stockton-on-Tees. Views must be received by 11:59pm on Thursday 8 November.
