Middlesbrough and Cleveland in partnership with Just Finance Foundation are delivering a free course designed for community workers who are working with vulnerable families to support them in this financially uncertain time.
Middlesbrough and Cleveland is a local charity which aims to address a range of social issues including vulnerable children and families, loneliness and isolation, homelessness, mental health and well-being and food insecurity.
Just Finance Foundation is a charity which address the issues of financial exclusion, and distress caused by unmanageable money worries and debt.
COVID Cash Recovery is a free 2-hour course which upskills churches, charities and community workers to help individuals recover from the financial problems that have arisen due to the coronavirus.
COVID Cash Recovery is an information and signposting course, the session covers:
Government and charitable grants
Help with bills
Money strategies for making it through these next few months
The information and resources they provide through the ‘train-the-trainer’ model allows trusted members of the local community to signpost, and provide accurate information, to people in a flexible, non-advisory manner – allowing those trained to reach and help as many people as possible.
How it is delivered?
The course will be delivered via ZOOM either as a general session or as a ‘group session’ where people at your organisation can get trained (for free!) all at once.
What about if lockdown changes won’t our training be out of date?
As we move out of lockdown, our resources are regularly updated to reflect changes to legislation or support as they happen. Once you are trained, you receive a password which gives you access to all of the resources and materials you need to keep up-to-date and continue to support members of your community!
Our taster content includes the three slides from our 3 sub sections:
Dealing with deficit
So far over 700 community leaders, churches and organisations have been trained – those trained collectively say their training could help benefit over 17,000 people in their local area!
