Together Middlesbrough and Cleveland, in partnership with the charity Just Finance Foundation, will be delivering the Covid Cash Recovery course in February and March 2021.

This free course is designed to upskill local community workers who are working with vulnerable families and individuals who are facing financial difficulties during this covid crisis.  As we continue in this period of lockdown, the course content has been updated and continues to be relevant to local community workers and activists, churches and community groups.

At the end of the course, participants are given access to a wide range of resources available on the Just Finance Foundation website.

COVID Cash Recovery is a free 2-hour course which upskills churches, charities and community workers to help individuals recover from the financial problems that have arisen due to the coronavirus.

COVID Cash Recovery is an information and signposting course, the session covers:

  • General entitlements
  • Rights
  • Government and charitable grants
  • Budgeting
  • Help with bills
  • Loans
  • Debt
  • Money strategies for making it through these next few months

The information and resources provided through the ‘train-the-trainer’ model allows trusted members of the local community to signpost, and provide accurate information, to people in a flexible, non-advisory manner – allowing those trained to reach and help as many people as possible.

How it is delivered?

They deliver the course usually over ZOOM either as a general session or as a ‘group session’ where people at your organisation can get trained (for free!) all at once, however they can adapt delivery to suit your needs.

What about if lockdown changes won’t our training be out of date?

As we move out of lockdown, our resources are regularly updated to reflect changes to legislation or support as they happen. Once you are trained, you receive a password which gives you access to all of the resources and materials you need to keep up-to-date and continue to support members of your community!
