Ecominds project will take place within the Walled Gardens at Preston Park Museum and Grounds, Stockton.

The project will work with men aged 25-65 with the aim to give them a safe space to talk about their mental health issues, develop strategies for wellbeing and resilience through gardening/horticulture and support them to make a network of friends in the wider community.

They will be working with staff and volunteers at Preston Park Walled Garden who will provide a welcoming, quiet and non-judgemental environment where participants can relax, feel safe and secure. Participants don’t need gardening/horticulture experience but should show an interest in this area. Participants will take part in activities such as planting, plant care and maintenance, harvesting, composting and wildlife conservation.

Participants will be encouraged to feel part of the community too and beyond the 6-week initial programme, there will be opportunities to engage in volunteering, either at the gardens or in environmental projects in the area.

If you would like to refer into the project, please contact or on 01642 796630.
