Training and Development: Designated Person Safeguarding Training

27 October @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Are you the go-to person for safeguarding in your group or organisation?

Maybe you are the Safeguarding Lead, Safeguarding Officer, Designated Person for Safeguarding, Welfare Officer or Designated Safeguarding Officer.

The role of Designated Person for Safeguarding (DP) is a challenging one, but is vital in protecting your organisation, its staff and volunteers and the people you work with.

This session will cover the following:

  • You will gain an understanding of the key skills and knowledge you need to perform the role of DP and the responsibilities of the DP.
  • You will increase your competence and confidence in decision-making with regards to safeguarding concerns.
  • Help you to engage with your local safeguarding board and their priorities
  • Identify the support needs of staff and volunteers in your organisation.

This session will be delivered by Caroline Friend, with more than 20 years of experience in the third sector in the North East and many years as a safeguarding trainer. She has also held the position of DP in a number of VCSE organisations.

You can sign up for this training HERE

Please note that in order to attend this training you need to have attended an introductory training session for safeguarding in the past 3 years
