Opportunity to be part of a funding bid to deliver free holiday activities and healthy food during 2020 summer holidays

The Department of Education has announced grants to fund the co-ordination of free holiday activities and healthy food for disadvantaged children, especially those receiving free school meals, during the school summer holidays in 2020.

The project will aim to increase the quantity and quality of holiday provision, putting new standards into practice and supporting a wide range of organisations to deliver exciting and accessible programmes.

A group of partners including Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, Hartlepool Borough Council, Catalyst Stockton and Children North East are working together to put in an application for these funds. This is a very ambitious project with challenging targets and we will need to work with everyone to ensure that children and young people in Hartlepool and Stockton- on-Tees have the best summer ever!

We envisage that community organisations and charities, schools, faith organisations, housing providers and others will respond to this call to express an interest in being part of this great opportunity.

There a number of ways in which you can be part of the programme and we would like to hear from anyone who can deliver activities, provide a venue, deliver enrichment activities e.g. gardening/cooking, provide food/catering or want to work in partnership with other organisations etc.

If you are interested in being part of this exciting project please fill in the short form (link below) by Tuesday 10th December 2019 (apologies for the really tight deadline but the whole application has to be in by the 13th December)

We will hear from the DfE in early February 2020 if we have been successful. If we are successful we will contact everyone who has expressed an interest and start the process of developing a summer programme.

Please note: this is just an expression of interest and does not commit you to deliver any activities at this point.
