Butterwick Hospice is looking for a Food and Beverage Supervisor to join the Catering team in our catering department at Butterwick Hospice.

Salary: £17,355 per annum
Hours: 37.5 per week

The purpose of the post is to be the operational lead within the catering department, working under the direction of the Facility Manager, to ensure that the Hospice provides a high quality catering service to our patients, visitors, staff and volunteers at all Butterwick sites including the Bishop Auckland Hospice and a volunteer café.

The successful candidate will need to NVQ level 2 food hygiene qualifications or equivalent, and educated to GCSE level or equivalent. Whilst it is desirable you will have Food Hygiene Training qualification level 3 it is not essential but you must be willing to undertake the qualification as part of the job role. As there are a number of sites you will be working at driving is essential to the job role. An ability prepare and cook meals for all departments as well as the ability to control all ordering and deliveries of goods, maintain effective control of food and beverage services over 3 sites is essential.

You must have experience, knowledge and ability to deal with food allergies and diverse dietary requirements whilst ensuring all meals are delivered to a high quality standard. You must able to plan quality menus, ensure effective stock and ordering systems, plus the ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workload. You must be able to arrange rotas/manage staff and also manage the day to day routines of the department. An ability to control all ordering and deliveries of goods, maintain effective control of food and beverage services over 3 sites is essential.
