At the start of the Catalyst Digital Inclusion Project we received half a dozen 4G routers from Hartlepower, a Charity/Social Enterprise in Hartlepool.
We were able to loan those out to people with no Internet connection. The beauty of this way of getting online is that there is no waiting or installation fee and there is no contract so I money is tight one month the user can take a break. One early adopter in Norton borrowed one to help with his job search. We’re pleased to say he took on the device himself and has recently gained employment.
Now, in an exciting recent development Hartlepower have offered us 100 (one hundred) 4G routers loaded with one-month’s free connectivity. After the free month it’s £20 per month but it’s non-contract and a great way to get Internet connectivity.
We will be distributing these on a referral basis via charities and voluntary organisations. If your organisation supports residents of Stockton Borough and you’d like to participate in this scheme please get in touch.
