This course is FREE to anyone that is unemployed 19+ and resident in the North East.
It is a 10-day course but can be done part time over 10 weeks to suit each individual learner. It can be delivered classroom based or via zoom with full support from one of our friendly tutors.

The course covers the following subjects: –
Healthy Lifestyle – To encourage learners to demonstrate activities which will improve their lifestyle. This unit aims to help learners understand what is needed and the contributions they can make to live a healthy lifestyle. This is crucial to the physical, social and mental wellbeing of all human beings.
Developing Self – To introduce learners to ways in which they can reflect on their personal development and how their skills, abilities and behaviours can be improved.
Working Towards Goals -This helps learners examine their strengths and weaknesses in relation to personal and social skills development. This is a practical unit designed to help learners identify realistic goals and work towards meeting at least one.
Dealing with Problems in Daily Life – This unit will help learners describe a variety of straightforward problems and apply a range of strategies and procedures for tackling them. It is a practical unit, designed to support learners in identifying straightforward problems and working towards solving them, with support from a range of appropriate people and organisations.
Preparation for work – It develops learners’ understanding of the skills and qualities needed in the world of work. It seeks to encourage investigation of personal career opportunities. Future employers will want individuals who can demonstrate skills and qualities needed to meet the demands of the market.
