Home Energy Efficiency Tees Valley (HEET), a partnership of Darlington, Stockton-on-Tees and Redcar & Cleveland Councils, has been awarded £6million from the Governments Home Upgrade Grant (HUG) to help homeowners and residents improve the energy efficiency of their homes.

It aims to help homes which do not have gas central heating, and are heated in other ways, through the free installation of measures such as:

  • Insulation
  • Double glazing
  • Air source heat pumps
  • Solar panels

You may automatically qualify for help through your postcode. If not, your household must have a gross income of less than £36,000, or receive a qualifying benefit such as

  • Universal Credit
  • Working and Child Tax Credits
  • Income Support
  • Income-based Job Seekers Allowance (JSA).

The property must have an energy performance of D, E, F or G.
