Locality’s Keep it Local Network is seeking to build momentum around approaches to commissioning which harness the power of community, convene sessions to share best practice and work through practical barriers to change.
At this event, they are bringing together the voluntary and community and public sectors in the North East to discuss commissioning, contracting and the delivery of public services.
They’ll kick the event off with a panel discussion, hearing from Newcastle Council Deputy Leader, Joyce McCarty; Newcastle CVS Chief Executive, Sally Young; and Mandi Cresswell, Chief Officer at Meadow Well Connected.
After lunch you’ll hear in more detail from Newcastle’s joint commissioning and procurement teams about how their working has evolved in recent years. Through facilitated discussion groups – and in the context of Locality’s Keep it Local approach – you’ll discuss lessons from this evolution and potential for further evolution.
They’re keen to have as wide a range of local government perspectives as possible, so please do forward this email to a colleague if you can’t make it yourself.
