Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council is responsible for the commissioning of community drug and alcohol treatment, recovery and family carer support services. Earlier this year Stockton Borough Council engaged and consulted with the service users, stakeholders and the public about what works now and what works for the future, the feedback from this has shaped the model.

Time: 10.30 (registration and coffee from 10.00) – 12:00pm
Venue: River Tees Watersports Centre, The Slipway, Stockton-on-Tees, TS18 2NL

The Authority wishes to further engage with stakeholders as part of a market engagement event. At the event Stockton Borough Council will invite providers and stakeholders to hear about the Authority’s vision for community drug and alcohol treatment, recovery and family carer support services. They would like for stakeholders to have an opportunity to gain insight into the new model and consider opportunities for working relationships.

The Authority intends to do this via a short phase of market engagement allowing interested parties the opportunity to express views on the Authority’s aspirations and approach to a new service.

The information and insights from this market engagement stage may help shape the next steps and the nature of any future service model. The market engagement phase is not a call for competitive dialogue but an opportunity to engage with the process. Therefore, Stockton Borough Council would like to invite interested stakeholders of drug and alcohol treatment, community recovery services and family carer services to attend a market engagement event on Thursday 20th June.

At this event we aim to:

  • Present the Stockton-on-Tees vision for drug and alcohol treatment; and family carer support services
  • Present local knowledge, data, needs, and the current and future challenges
  • Present a high-level overview of future service model, cost envelope and requirements for new services in from April 2020
  • Provide a forum for providers and stakeholders to network and create partnership links
  • Establish market interest and opinion
