Actes, a registered charity, has an impressive track record of delivery in the areas of youth engagement, lifelong learning, employment support services, community facilities, housing and environmental initiatives.

Actes, Thirteen Group, Beyond Housing and New College Durham are a unique partnership which has secured European Social Fund and Department for Work and Pensions funding to deliver the Youth Employment Initiative (YEI) throughout the Tees Valley.

The initiative will support people aged 15 to 29 who are classed as NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training), to access specialist support and enable them to progress into further education, training or employment. To support the programme of delivery Actes are looking to appoint a team leader who is committed, enthusiastic and passionate around programme delivery.

The following posts are available;

YEI Advocate x 2 (37hrs a week) – £21,000 The posts are on a fixed term contract basis until 31 July 2021 and is subject to a probation period and DBS check.

YEI Advocate x 1 (30hrs a week) – £17,027 The post is a fixed term contract for 20 months and is subject to a probation period and DBS check.

The posts will work closely with the Operations Director and Team Leader to support the ‘one-team approach’ in achievement of targets and will also:

Engage and recruit eligible 15-29-year olds to the YEI programme to provide intensive one to one and advocacy, progressing them into education, training or employment.

  • Develop individual action plans for the beneficiary and measure progress against agreed targets.
  • Ensure compliance with ESF requirements when completing beneficiary paperwork.
  • Ensure timely and accurate input to the Hanlon Management Information System.

The Youth Employment Initiative (YEI) is an EU funded programme to help unemployment 15-29 years old improve their skills and move into employment, training or education.
