NHS North Of England Commissioning Support Unit supports NHS regional campaigns covering the North East and North Cumbria, as well as high profile consultations and engagement programmes.
They launched the child health app in 2016 which gives easy to understand guidance on childhood illnesses. This was very well received by parents – it has been downloaded over 23,000 times since launch and is being re visited by parents with children under 5 years of age.
They are now developing an app for adults that will cover a range of common illnesses. The app is designed to give guidance and encourage the public to self diagnose, use the pharmacist and 111 more to reduce the need to visit an already overstretched A & E. We are looking to target 18-25 year olds specifically as they are less likely to visit their doctor when they are feeling unwell.
Before they launch the app we would like to get feedback on our test app from our target audience which is where you come in, we would like to link in with you to get suitable participants .
We would like to know what you think of some of the key messages that we are thinking of using with the public and what you think of the features of the app.so that we can make sure in the pilot stage that we are developing an app that people will want to use.
Ideally they would like 10 people per focus group and would make sure that we have all the materials and someone to facilitate this, all we would ask is that you have space for the group and supply the participants. For each participant they are willing to contribute £20 per person.
