Fundraiser – Community Lead

Butterwick Hospice Care is entering an exciting period of development as we work towards growing our services to meet the challenging needs of a modern community; we are excited to welcome new faces to the organisation who will bring innovative ideas and lots of energy.

Working within a driven and energetic team, you will be responsible for inspiring individuals, businesses, and local community groups to raise funds in support of Butterwick Hospice Care.

You will be self-motivated, working as part of a team, to increase the contributions made by a wide variety of donors and supporters over a large geographic area. You will be responsible for building relationships and exploring new and inventive opportunities to maximise income for the charity.

The successful candidates will have a background in fundraising, sales, event planning and/or marketing and have a desire to make a real and tangible difference to people across the North East. The post holder will demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, excellent communication skills, and creativity as well as operating with honesty and integrity in all their endeavours.

Communications & Marketing Manager

Salary: circa £28,000

The Communications and Marketing Manager will be responsible for working with key internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement communications plans to support the achievement of the overall strategic objectives of Butterwick Hospice Care.

Butterwick Hospice is looking for someone who is confident and capable in converting detailed information into engaging content that delivers high impact, drive awareness of Butterwick Hospice Care, the charity’s work, brand and impact to increase our reach.

Membership Team Leader

Salary: £20,800 per annum
30 hours per week

As Membership Team Leader you will lead and develop two Hospice Lotteries and have the opportunity to line manage, motivate and support the lottery team on a day-to-day basis as well promoting and marketing out regular draws, working towards defined targets.

Working with their Finance and Business Director, you will develop plans to retain and recruit members, grow income while offering the best possible experience to our supporters. The success of our membership schemes is pivotal to the charity’s ability to raise the annual funds necessary to meet the needs of our patients.

The Membership Team Leader will work with our lottery company and other agencies to meet ambitious targets, ensure that the lottery programmes are effectively managed and are run in compliance with all Gambling Commission and other regulatory requirements.

An awareness and experience of compliance with Gambling Commission requirements are desirable but not essential.

They are looking for the right candidate with a ‘can do’ approach who will help us take our scheme to the next level.

Butterwick Hospice is looking for an experienced retail shop manager to lead their Barnard Castle Shop. The successful candidate will be comfortable motivating a team of volunteers, enjoy delivering targets and thrive in a busy fast paced environment.

Working alongside their newly formed commercial retail management team, their shop managers work within an empowering environment, seek out new business opportunities and represent the hospice within the community. You will have high standards, a strong drive to achieve results and be comfortable being accountable for the shop business.

Registered Children’s/ Learning Disabilities Nurse

Butterwick Hospice Children’s unit has recently undergone a full review of services, which has led to them requiring highly skilled, motivated and enthusiastic registered nurses to join their already existing team.

Following the development of our children’s services, they are in need of a number of full and part time registered nurses to join the team providing excellent care within their children’s hospice, which is a 6-bedded in-patient unit providing planned respite, emergency and end-of-life care.

You will be part of a highly capable, motivated and talented team of nurses and Health care Technicians to deliver a broad range of nursing and medical services.

Junior Sister – Adult Inpatient Unit

Salary: £15.98 per hour

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Sister to join Butterwick Hospice’s dedicated Adult Inpatient Unit team at their Stockton site. They are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic Junior Sister who has a passion for providing and delivering high quality, holistic palliative and end-of-life care, whether that is from medical and social or spiritual and emotional support.

The Junior Sister will have a major role in ensuring the provision of high standards of patient care, and must be able to carry out their work with minimum supervision. You will assist with the organisation and management of the unit, to deliver care for patients who have life limiting illnesses. This may be in the form of an admission for symptom control, respite or end-of-life care. You will undertake nursing assessments, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team and provide symptom control. In order to provide true holistic care, you will also be involved in providing appropriate support for families and carers.

The position will offer you the opportunity to develop your leadership and management skills, as you will be expected to lead a motivated and talented team of nurses and healthcare-assistants. The Junior Sister post requires you to act as role model, teacher and supervisor for nursing staff and students. As a member of the leadership team, you will also be responsible for recognising and implementing service improvements to ensure clinical practice, education and professional nursing are delivered at the highest quality standard.
