Social Lights has been awarded additional funding until end of March, 2024. We are delighted to continue to support our clients to join groups, go for walks or coffees, play sports, or various other social activities with their volunteer. We have seen great success stories of those who have benefited greatly from this support and gained the confidence to join in with groups and activities. Social Lights
Be a light in your community!
Catalyst is running a scheme in collaboration with Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council called Social Lights, designed to help adults who are in receipt of Adult Social Care support to socialise within their community. The Scheme aims to support those who are isolated and lack confidence, who may struggle with mental health difficulties, have a learning disability, autism, or any particular barrier to accessing their community.
We want everyone to feel empowered and able to reach personal goals and follow interests, whoever they may be. Social Lights allows people access to support from our friendly, fully trained volunteers to encourage and enable people to socialise and thrive, through groups or activities, and build self-confidence along the way.
Volunteers will be placed with a person based on interests and hobbies, aiming to create a great pairing. Whether it is going for a coffee, or a walk, an event or an activity, every little meet up has such a positive impact.
If you or someone you know would benefit from this support, please request a referral through the assigned Social Worker or Key Worker.

We don’t require any qualifications or experience for this role and we will provide full training. Whether you are looking for experience in Adult Social Care for future career prospects, or you simply enjoy supporting people to thrive in their community, you can get involved!
