Red Balloons is a Lived Experience Charity offering people support with their mental health. Where we can support people to use physical activity to improve their mental and physical wellbeing. Our volunteers use lived experiences of ill mental health, physical health conditions and difficult times to support members who attend our sessions.
We have been commissioned by the ICB to set up and host a Tees Valley Wide Peer Support Network which has now been up and running since November 2023. This Network supports anyone who is using their lived experience of mental ill health or associated issues to support others, whether formally or informally. We bring together individual Peers and Organisations offering Peer Support to learn from each other, share best practice and offer training.
The Development Worker is key to developing the membership of the Network Tees Valley-wide and the support available to Peers. They will spend their time out across the Region spreading the word, encouraging sign-up and supporting the development of the Network. The post is initially on a Fixed Term Contract, until December 2025, with the potential to extend depending on funding.
