Roseworth Big Local Expression of Interest Invitation
The Roseworth Big Local (RBL) is now in its fourth year and are looking to commission a range of ‘short-term’ projects that will support these ideals and provide evidence based practice for moving forward for the remaining 3 years.
The Big Local (BL) is a national, decade long programme administered by the Big Local/Local Trust and funded by the National Lottery. BL aims to inspire and motivate people to get involved and lead change in their communities. BL brings together all the local talent, ambitions, skills and energy from individuals, groups and organisations who want to make their area an even better place to live, now and in the future.
In 2014 Roseworth Ward was successful in becoming one of the 150 BL Areas. Now, alongside the Locally Trusted Organisation, Catalyst, a resident led Board aspires to create and manage a programme of work that will be measured against, and achieve the delivery of the Roseworth Big Local Plan and the four overall aims of the BL Programme:
Communities will be better able to identify local needs and take action in response to them.
People will have increased skills and confidence, so that they continue to identify and respond to needs in the future.
The community will make a difference to the needs it prioritises.
People will feel that their area is an even better place to live.
To deliver the Big Local outcomes, the Roseworth Ward Big Local Board will adopt the following approach:
The continuous involvement of residents to ensure that the programme is locally led
The ongoing development of an accountable Board, the majority of whom are local residents
A culture of contribution to longer term changes in the area
A commitment to building skills, confidence, and capacity
Shared learning within the Roseworth Area and with other Big Local areas
A programme which is flexible, realistic, deliverable, and fair
A programme which will not replace the main-stream public money or provision of local organisations.
