Are you eager to explore your creative side by devising a unique community project?

ARC in Stockton-on-Tees is seeking invitations now for its ‘Pizza and Pitches’ initiative. The ARC team is asking individuals, partnerships or groups to pitch projects, events, activities and ideas that can be delivered remotely to the local community.

These diverse ideas could include a:

  • performance
  • series of workshops
  • curated event or exhibition
  • creative gathering or talks
  • party.

The winning project will be awarded £1,000 from ARC and be delivered between January to March 2021. Previous winners include a skateboarding project and a targeted youth dance initiative.

Sonya Curle, ARC’s Creative Programme Manager said: “We’re looking for completely different ideas that can appeal to a wide range of people across the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees. These ideas can also be accessible to those without internet access.”

Applications will close at 10am on Monday 19 October. To apply please fill in and return the short form you’ll find HERE

All applications will be shortlisted by a community panel and the event will be broadcast live from ARC via Zoom on Wednesday 25 November at 7pm. It will be ticketed and hosted by Annabel Turpin, ARC’s Chief Executive. Pre-recorded video clips of each shortlisted pitch will be screened via Zoom, enabling the ticketed audience to vote from home.

In addition, recipes for veggie and meat pizzas will be made available on the ARC website the week before the event. The recipes will be accompanied by a video tutorial from Cheryl Carter, ARC’s Catering Manager. So voters can feast on their homemade pizzas while voting for their favourite pitches!
