Snaps hosted a special award ceremony which was attended and supported by The Mayor of Stockton Councillor Lynn Hall and Mayoress Janice Gallagher. The 14th MB Awards saw over 220 people attend, who came together to celebrate young people’s achievements in the categories of Personal, Sporting, Supporting Someone and Teamwork.
The first MB Awards night was held in 2006 in recognition of Michael Benson who had Spinal Muscular Atrophy and passed away just before his 16th birthday. He was an inspiration to many and these awards aim to celebrate young peoples achievements.
Catalyst Supported and presented the Personal Achievements, Stockton Leisure & Sports Development Sponsored and presented the Sporting Achievements, Eastern Ravens Trust Sponsored and presented the Supporting Someone Awards, Tees Active Sponsored and presented the Teamwork Awards and Benson Plumbing and Heating Ltd Sponsored and presented the Recognition Awards, SNAPS hosted the Michael Benson Awards.
Ruth Benson Founder said, “The Young People’s delight and surprise, when their name is read out, is amazing, so many smiles and so proud as they went down the red carpet, a very heart warming night, everyone nominated received a trophy and certificate, making it an evening of celebration, fun and enjoyment, really quite memorable.”
