Steve Rose is Chief Executive of Catalyst Stockton on Tees. Steve is responsible for implementing the VCSE Strategy which aims to ensure that the sector becomes stronger and more influential in the development of public policy as well as playing a full role in the delivery of services in the borough.
Steve came to Catalyst following a career which included working in theatre, youth work and regeneration. The role of which he is most proud was to relocate a service for young homeless people from Covent Garden to Kings Cross in London. Seeing the effects of the sex industry, drugs, alcohol and family breakdown on these young people and their inability to settle in any accommodation defined Steve both personally and professionally. Whilst in Kings Cross Steve was heavily involved with supporting and representing the community around the massive capital developments linked to the Eurostar Terminal at St Pancras.
He was Chief Executive of Darlington Partnership for six years followed by becoming an independent consultant with many clients including the IDeA. As a consultant, Steve worked for Catalyst to develop the Community Asset Transfer Programme which also led to his appointment as Chief Executive of Catalyst Stockton-on-Tees in 2013.
