Do you have a passion for healthy cooking that you want to share with others?
As part of Middlesbrough Environment City’s Healthy Cooking Team, you will be working on a range of community based cooking initiatives, with a particular focus on the Food & Friendship Project.
Working in partnership with Together Middlesbrough & Cleveland, we want to develop a network of Food and Friendship Projects across Middlesbrough in community, faith and church venues to create places for people to gather and share food together. In particular, we want to raise awareness about loneliness and isolation amongst older people over 50 and people of younger generations.
You will work as part of the Healthy Cooking Team within community settings providing practical cooking sessions in an informal, flexible and inclusive way. You will need to have previous experience of working with community groups, delivering practical sessions.
Experience of delivering community cooking would be an advantage and an interest in healthy cooking is desirable.
This is a partnership project with Together Middlesbrough & Cleveland, who will be responsible for co-ordinating the Food and Friendship Project, you will be working as part of MEC’s Healthy Cooking Team. The post is funded by the National Lottery through the National Lottery Community Fund.
