The Moneywise Group are the leading Credit Union in the North East and they want to raise awareness of their services, so along with the Illegal Money Lending Team, who educate residents of the dangers of using loan sharks, they’ve created a range of initiatives to get residents joining the credit union and saving and borrowing from them.

These initiatives are being launched in the week beginning 14th October, leading up to International Credit Union Day on the 17th.

The Moneywise Group through their Tees Credit Union branch in Stockton are working with Stockton on Tees Borough Council, and through their South Tees Community branch in Middlesbrough are working with Middlesbrough Council, to encourage employees to sign up to their Payroll Deductions Scheme by offering a £25 bonus to the first 25 employees that sign up from each Council.

The Moneywise Group through their South Tees Community Bank branch at Redcar are working with Redcar & Cleveland Council to encourage employees to sign up to their Payroll Deductions Scheme by offering a £25 bonus to the first 50 employees that sign up.

They are also working with local schools in the three Local Authority areas to promote their NEW Prom Account, an account they’ve created through demand to enable parents to save for the costs of their children attending their year end Proms, which can prove a costly affair. Parents who sign up can receive £25 for the first 25 from Stockton and Middlesbrough and the first 50 from Redcar.

As if that wasn’t enough they are launching their NEW Rent Account, another account that they’ve created through demand, to enable Private Landlords to sign up to the scheme and encourage their tenants to have their Universal Credit paid into the credit union, who will then pay their rent direct to their landlord. The first 50 tenants who sign up from Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Redcar or Stockton will also receive £25.

Working in partnership with Redcar & Cleveland’s Public Health they are also promoting the Community Bank in the Redcar area with a £25 bonus to the first 400 residents!!! who sign up to South Tees Community Bank in Redcar.

Symon Agnew, Chief Executive of Moneywise, said: “We are very pleased to be working with all of our partners to highlight the fantastic benefits of joining our Credit Union’s and Community Banks. International Credit Union week is a great opportunity to highlight our services and to show that we can help to meet the needs of our communities by creating specific accounts to help members budget for costly periods. We greatly value our partners support and work closely with them to ensure that their employees and service users get the greatest benefits from any bonus opportunities that we are able to create.”
