On behalf of the UK Government the Office for Disability Issues is launching the Regional Stakeholder Network.

These networks will provide an opportunity for disabled people to engage with government on disability issues. The Network will cover a broad range of topics from across society and across government.

The Regional Stakeholder Network will bring the views of disabled people and disabled people’s organisations, closer to government. Through its 9 groups across England it will create face to face forums and provide a channel for people to share their views about policies and services that affect them.

They are looking for Chairs to lead and drive the efforts of their group forward, and Members to share their views and experiences to help government make improvements. Further details and how to apply are on the Office for Disability Issues website: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/seeking-chairs-and-members-for-the-new-disability-regional-stakeholder-network

The 9 regional groups across England are:

  • North West
  • North East
  • Yorkshire and the Humber
  • West Midlands
  • East Midlands
  • South West
  • South East
  • East of England
  • Greater London

The application process runs until 29th March 2019 and they want to get the message to as many disabled people and disabled people’s organisations as possible to give them the opportunity to apply. Please circulate this information to all Partnership Managers and if possible to the Disability Employment Advisor networks. We are keen to promote this opportunity to as many individuals and relevant organisations as possible.

If you or an organisation have questions regarding the application process or the Regional Stakeholder Network itself please email – ODI.CONTACTUS@DWP.GSI.GOV.UK
