All the volunteers who have done so much to help communities in Stockton during the COVID pandemic will be thanked for their invaluable contributions, during Volunteers Week.
We are hosting a number of events to celebrate volunteering during Volunteers Week: 1-7 June.
A key feature of the celebrations will be market stalls at each of the Borough’s markets, where people will be able to see the diversity of volunteering opportunities that Stockton has to offer. They will also be able to meet volunteers and learn about their volunteering experiences.
Tuesday 1 June sees the launch of the Volunteering Strategy for Stockton-on-Tees. Developed by Catalyst in partnership with Stockton Borough Council and with valuable input from organisations across the VCSE sector, the strategy sets out a vision for volunteering in Stockton, and an action plan which will mean that people who want to volunteer are able to find the best opportunity for them.
Also on 1 June, nominations open for the Catalyst Achievement Awards 2021. People can nominate volunteers or organisations that they feel have made a significant contribution to Stockton in the past 12 months. The Award Ceremony will take place in Stockton on 12 November.
Other events during Volunteers Weeks include a virtual coffee morning on Friday 4th of June, for volunteers will be on hand to discuss and answer any questions for people who may be considering getting into volunteering but don’t know where to start. There will also be social media activity throughout the week, and a word from Jon Carling, Catalyst’s CEO, about the vital role that volunteer play in making Stockton a thriving, caring and exciting place to live and work.
