The Council’s Public Health team is wanting to review the health needs and priorities of local residents for a healthy weight.
The latest data suggests that in Stockton-on-Tees around 2 in 3 adults are overweight or obese, and around 1 in 5 children in their last year of primary school are experiencing obesity. There are significant health benefits from having a healthy weight, and we would really value your support to help us understand the challenges, and the things that can help. This will help us identify how we, alongside local communities and organisations, can support more children, young people and adults in our Borough to have a healthy weight.
There are two surveys to take part in by 10 April:
For residents 18+ – www.stockton.gov.uk/HealthyWeightSurvey
For professionals or volunteer who works with children, young people, families or adults in Stockton-on-Tees – www.stockton.gov.uk/HealthyWeightSurvey-professional/volunteer
There will also be two Healthy Weight online forums to discuss healthy weight and share ideas on Wednesday 16 March, 10.30 – 11.30am and 3.30 – 4.30pm. Please contact gemma.mcdonald@stockton.gov.uk or call if you would like to attend one of these sessions.
