Catalyst hosts 8 Forums, providing an opportunity for Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations in Stockton to come together and talk about the issues that matter.
Catalyst has hosted 38 forums in the past year.
Voice Forum is an open meeting for any VCSE organisation either based or delivering services in Stockton-on-Tees. It is an ideal forum for sharing information, discussing issues in the local community and a great opportunity to network with other organisations from the Borough. This meeting is well attended by a wide-ranging selection of organisation and services.
The Stockton-on-Tees Migration Partnership was established to provide advice to the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees on planning, decision making and strengthening support for migrants, refugee and asylum seeker communities. The establishment of this forum provides a solid foundation for effective community engagement to implement, enhance, monitor and evaluate the services delivered to and for the Refugee, Asylum Seekers and Migrants.
Regular meetings are held once a quarter and attendance is by invitation only.
Refugee & Asylum Seeker Forum
The purpose of the Forum meetings is to bring together all the Voluntary Community Sector and Enterprise and Refugee Community Organisations to discuss the delivery of services to the Refugee and Asylum Seekers Community. This kind of networking will improve the quality and effectiveness of the current service delivery for new arrivals and those already in the asylum process.
Catalyst and colleagues in the sector identified the need for a specific health and wellbeing forum in order for the sector to come together and develop a co-ordinated, strategic view and plan on how we can deliver health and wellbeing services in the Borough of Stockton-On-Tees. Each meeting focuses on a different area of health and wellbeing, past examples include palliative care and long term conditions & disability.
The Stockton Funders Forum is part of Catalyst’s Community Programme and brings together funders and the VCSE sector so that they can have a dialogue about the challenges facing the VCSE sector and how we can work together to meet the needs of our communities.
The Children and Young People’s Forum brings together organisations that work with or have an interesting is issues relating to Children and Young People. These Forums are in line with the SBC’s Children & Young People’s Partnership, which allows the VCSE sector the chance to feedback on agenda items, which is fed into the Partnership, as well as hearing from discussions at the Partnership.
The Volunteer Coordinator’s Forum brings together volunteer managers, co-ordinators and other representatives from charities and organisations who wish to establish or develop their volunteer offer. This Forum will provide the opportunity for discussion, joint working and also the development of clear action plans to help make the vision of the Volunteering Strategy a reality. Task and finish groups are established as required, to work on specific projects and areas of the Strategy and work towards tangible outcomes and results to benefit the Borough.
