Young Persons Emotional Wellbeing Coach

Hours: 16 hours pw, fixed term 12 months
Salary: £27,300 pro rata
Hart Gables is an award-winning charity in Teesside who have supported thousands of LGBTQ+ people for nearly two decades.
We are now looking to recruit a friendly and dynamic individual with excellent communication skills who will strive to make a difference to the lives of LGBTQ+ young people struggling with their emotional health.
Responsibilities include:
Delivering one to one work directly with LGBTQ+ young people to improve their confidence and emotional wellbeing
Helping parents who are unsure how best to support their LGBTQ+ child
Liaising with partner organisations to help improve engagement between services and multiagency work
Engaging in Clinical Supervision
Using specific measuring tools to ensure key outcomes are being met
Supporting Hart Gables with any other work that is deemed essential by management to the running of the service, i.e., group cover
Requirements include:
Essential
2+ years working with young people
Specific knowledge of barriers LGBTQ+ young people face, including gender clinic waiting times and gender critical narratives
Experience within the Charity Sector
A passion to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ communities
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise work
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Desirable
Qualification in the arena of Mental Health, Youth Work, Social Sciences and/or Counselling (levels are not specified)
Experience working within the LGBTQ+ sector
Hold a full driving license

This post comes with the opportunity to work additional hours to deliver LGBTQ+ Awareness training for the organisations fund-raising project, LGBT Advance Training and Consultancy (train the trainer training will be provided).
