Can you offer a high-quality work placement or taster session to help a young person (aged 18-21) who is not in education, employment, or training gain the skills and experiences they need?
Tees Valley Combined Authority are calling on local employers, including VCSE organisations, to help get more young people into good, progressive jobs by offering:
- Flexible unpaid work taster sessions for young people to explore what sectors/roles they’re most interested in.
- Structured, paid work placements (3 or 6 months) to equip young people with the practical experience and skills needed to secure sustainable employment.
Work placements will be fully funded, so there is no financial cost to your business.
Employers will also be eligible to apply for up to £2,000 to identify dedicated work-based mentors within your team to support young people. On top of this, your organisation may also receive up to £2,500 towards certified training, qualifications, and upskilling.
This scheme isn’t just about providing positive experiences for young people. Your business will also benefit from targeted workforce and skills development support to ensure you have access to a readily available skilled workforce, now and in the future.
