A Way Out is seeking to employ an enthusiastic and experienced Youth Outreach Co-ordinator with exceptional drive and passion for influencing positive impact upon the lives of young people.
Salary: £21,312
Hours: 16 hours per week
The Youth Outreach Co-ordinator will be responsible for the delivery and continued development of the Youth Engagement Service whilst co-ordinating a range of existing activities and a package of support with the help of a Youth Worker and team of volunteers.
This role is offered a one half of a full time job share and is an exciting opportunity to continue to develop a project in its second year of secured funding.
For the last 10 years A Way Out’s well established Youth Engagement Service has worked with vulnerable young people in local areas of high deprivation who are at increased risk of dis-engaging from learning, and of becoming involved at an early age in anti-social behaviour, offending and alcohol misuse.
The Service delivers a highly innovative, relational, multi-component model to break the cycle of disadvantage, and tackle issues before they become entrenched. The delivery embraces an asset based approach around a programme of positive and healthy lifestyle group activities, 1-1 intensive support sessions, a summer holiday programme of recreational and educational activities and trips, a social action project and focus group feedback sessions for children and young people aged 8-11. For young people aged 11-12 years, who are experiencing difficulty with transition from primary to secondary school, we are developing a new weekly positive activity and 1-1 support programme.
If you have the motivation, enthusiasm and skills to coordinate our Youth Engagement Service and engage with such young people please go to our website for details http://www.awayout.co.uk/get-involved/jobs/
