Daniel's Story

Danny signed up to the Tees Valley Sport Youth Employment Initiative programme in the summer of 2017 after leaving college and being unsure about his next steps to employment.

18 year old Danny is from Middlesbrough and had always had a big interest in sport. He met up with Tees Valley YEI Coordinator, Ellen McMillan and agreed a programme of support to help him apply for jobs in the sports coaching sector.

Danny was quickly placed with the StreetLeague Charity based at Pallister Park. After impressing during his volunteer placement, Danny was offered an apprenticeship through StreetLeague linked to the Core Coaching programme
supported by the Royal Foundation.

Danny commenced his new role in December 2017 and has been busy supporting StreetLeague clients with
football coaching and benefiting from working with a great team at Pallister Park. He has also had the opportunity to access amazing training with internationally recognised coaches as part of the Royal Foundation support.
